How Raven X works with BoldTrail
Two separate things. The extension works on the BoldTrail page you have open, with nothing to connect. The connection to your own BoldTrail account lets EVE read it in the background, even with BoldTrail closed.
While you work in BoldTrail
The Raven X browser extension, on BoldTrail's own pages
- Opens to the person
- Open a contact in BoldTrail and Raven X switches to its People tab and reads who is on the screen. BoldTrail is one of the sites Raven X is built for, so there is nothing extra to allow.
- Recognizes them
- EVE matches the contact to your Raven contacts by email, then phone, then full name. When two of your contacts share that phone or name, she says so instead of picking one.
- Shows what matters
- For a match: their stage, how warm they are, when you were last in touch and the next best action, plus a small card in the corner of the BoldTrail page.
- One click to act
- Draft an email or a text, call, get a prep brief before you talk, or watch the relationship. Someone not in Raven yet can be drafted to or added to Raven in one click.
- Offers the connection
- If BoldTrail is not connected yet, Raven X offers Connect BoldTrail right there on the page.
In the background, once connected
A direct connection to your own BoldTrail account
- How it connects
- Your own BoldTrail API token, of the type Contacts or All. It is checked with BoldTrail before anything is saved, stored encrypted, and never shown again.
- Who comes in
- Every contact your token can see becomes, or matches, one of your contacts in Raven.
- Their history
- BoldTrail's public API does not offer a contact's texts, calls and emails, so none come in from BoldTrail. EVE watches these contacts through the messages that go through Raven and your connected inbox.
- How often
- About every 12 minutes, with no page open. Each pass reads up to 500 contacts and picks up where the last one stopped, so a large account is read in full over several passes.
- What EVE does with it
- She notices who is waiting on a reply and who has gone quiet, drafts the follow-up from the conversation Raven holds, and puts it in your daily briefing. A draft waits for your approval unless you have set follow-ups to send automatically.
- What goes back to BoldTrail
- When EVE sends a follow-up to a contact linked to BoldTrail, a short note goes on that contact: that EVE sent a text or an email, the subject, and the start of the message. Switch it off with Log EVE activity to BoldTrail.
How to connect BoldTrail
- In BoldTrail, open Lead Engine, then Lead Dropbox. Create an API token of the type Contacts or All, and copy it.
- In Raven, open Settings, then Integrations, then CRM connections, and choose BoldTrail. Or, on any BoldTrail or kvCORE page, choose Connect BoldTrail in Raven X.
- Paste the token. Raven checks it with BoldTrail, saves it, and starts the first sync right away. A token lasts one year; Raven tells you when it needs a new one.
What it never does
- Puts no one from BoldTrail into your Raven lead queue. They arrive as your contacts, not as new leads.
- Changes no stage, owner or contact details in BoldTrail. The note is the only thing it writes.
- Brings back no contact you archived or deleted in Raven.
- Reaches no one who is paused, opted out or marked do not contact in Raven. Those switches apply to BoldTrail contacts exactly as to anyone else.
- Sends nothing through BoldTrail. EVE sends through Raven.
- Never asks for your BoldTrail password. Delete the token in BoldTrail, or disconnect in Settings, and reading stops.
What you need
- Plan
- Included with Raven X, Raven CRM and Raven. 14-day free trial.
- From BoldTrail
- An API token from Lead Engine, then Lead Dropbox, renewed once a year.
- Browser
- Chrome or Edge on a computer for the on-page part. The background connection runs with no browser open.
- On a team
- Each agent connects their own account, and each agent's briefing is their own.
Every agent connects their own account
Each agent connects with their own token, so EVE works the contacts that agent's token can see in BoldTrail, and each agent's briefing is their own.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as kvCORE?
Yes. BoldTrail is the current name of the product formerly called kvCORE. The connection uses an API token from your BoldTrail account, and the browser extension works on both BoldTrail and kvCORE pages.
What is the difference between the extension and the connection?
The extension works on the BoldTrail page you have open: EVE recognizes the contact and offers the next step. The connection, made with your API token, lets EVE read every contact in the background, about every 12 minutes, whether or not BoldTrail is open.
Does EVE see my BoldTrail texts and calls?
No. BoldTrail's public API does not offer a contact's message and call history, so the connection brings in the contacts only. EVE works from the texts and emails that go through Raven and your connected inbox.
How long does the token last?
One year. When it expires, Raven tells you, and you create a new token in Lead Dropbox and paste it in. Nothing else needs to change.
Does EVE send messages from BoldTrail on her own?
No. EVE sends through Raven, never through BoldTrail. A follow-up waits for your approval unless you have set follow-ups to send automatically. When EVE sends one, she logs a short note on the contact in BoldTrail.
Is Raven X for BoldTrail available in every state?
Yes. Raven X works in every US state. It does not depend on an MLS agreement or a state's forms.
